<p>Learn how to play rootless chords and open shell chords. The open shell chord is simply 1 7 3 and the basic shell is 1 3 7. For rootless chords, you basically take out the root and add a 9th and when you change from minor to major, you really only have to change one note&#8211;the 7th of the minor chord becomes the 3rd of the new dominant chord.
