Rootless Jazz Piano Chords and Shell Chords

Learn how to play rootless chords and open shell chords. The open shell chord is simply 1 7 3 and the basic shell is 1 3 7. For rootless chords, you basically take out the root and add a 9th and when you change from minor to major, you really only have to change one note–the 7th of the minor chord becomes the 3rd of the new dominant chord. The jazz piano chords are vital for every jazz pianist to have mastered.
