Who we are

About Jazz Piano Master

An app for learning jazz piano, made by a jazz pianist, and a website that checks its dates, quotations, notes and app numbers every time it is built.

What it is

Four parts, on iPhone and Android:

  • The Gig Book

1,700+ jazz charts on your phone, offline. It is free, with no subscription.

  • Courses and learning paths

30 courses and 400+ lessons. Four learning paths, from the Complete Beginner Path to Modern Jazz Specialist, show you a route through them. The first path is free, all four of its courses.

  • The Reharm Engine

Pick a progression and the Engine reharmonizes it, then shows you why each chord changed. It is built on Prismatic Harmony, Vladan Mijatovic's method. The Clockwork Walk, which offers substitute dominant chords a minor third or a tritone away, is free; the Engine's other methods come with Premium.

  • Chick, the AI coach

Chick is the AI jazz coach inside the app. With a free account it answers up to 15 messages a day, and 30 with Premium. Your messages go to our AI providers, OpenAI, Anthropic, and xAI (Grok), only after you agree in the app.

Who makes it

Vladan Mijatovic is a jazz pianist. He created Jazz Piano Master, its method Prismatic Harmony, and the reharmonization system that powers it, Vladan's Matrix, to teach the harmonic thinking behind the sound, not just the notes on the page.

The app is operated by CP Global Dynamics LLC, a California limited liability company located at 425 N Doheny Dr, Apt 2, Beverly Hills, CA 90210, USA.

How the content is checked

Every check below is a program that runs each time this site is built, and a single failure stops the build. Here is what each one holds a page to, in plain words.

  • The Legends essays

Every year cited, every album title set in italics and every quotation in a Legends essay has to match the app's own entry for that pianist, or a claim in the site's fact file that cites at least two sources on different websites. Two sources that share a distinctive headline are treated as one article posted twice and count once. The sources are listed under Sources at the end of each essay.

  • Chords and progressions

Every voicing on the chord and progression pages comes from the app's own data. The build works out from those notes which keys each keyboard should light and where each key sits, and stops on any difference. Every staff is checked against the same notes, note names keep the app's spelling, and a progression's chord symbols are printed as the app has them, in order.

  • The essential albums list

Every year on the albums list in the Writing section is the year the record first went on sale. Each one cites two separate sources, and is compared with the year the app stores for the same record where it has one. Where the two disagree, the list says so.

  • Numbers about the app

This site keeps its numbers about the app in one file: the counts of courses, lessons, standards, charts and voicings, the free courses and tools, and Chick's daily limits. Every build works each one out again from the app's own data and checks the prices against the Terms of Service. A number that disagrees stops the build.

The pages about the app, this one included, carry no customer quotes, and the build rejects a quotation block on any of them.
